Hummingbird

I composed this little poem in response to this week's Big Tent Poetry prompt. I took one of my past blog posts, cut it up, and played around with different word combinations.  I then made a few revisions (changed a word here and there) to create this poem.

Hummingbird

Suddenly seeing
the hummingbird
beside the clear
library window
I come to attention
I become light

Like a statue
a wooden thing
I didn't know
how lovely it could be
to be reborn

  10. What a delicious irony in being light/statue and reborn. Very nice tight imagery.
