Come Back To Me
May I see clearly today and know that in my God I am found, even after I've wandered away, no matter how long it takes me, no matter how many times I return. May I be the daughter who is stopped with an embrace, a kiss, even before she explains where she fell, how far. May I be guided back to where I need to be, to discover this path before me, not a perfect path, but one of both stones and rose petals. May I not just skip over the stones, hands covering my eyes, but become stronger by them, to make memories from them. I wish that I will not take the roses for granted. Again, I wish that I will not take the roses for granted. To appreciate each one in its fullest detail, each freckle, wrinkle, and tenderness is an ongoing practice, an art. To God, I return again and again, and to God, I offer this day.
